Alpine Ski Salomon X Drive 8.8 FS n

Ski sold without binding.

The X-Drive 8.8 FS is the most all-mountain ski of the Salomon X-Drive serie. With a 88m waist it has good floating skills in fresh powder. Cherry on the cake, an all terrain double rocker increases the buoyancy abilities.

What can the  Salomon X-Drive 8.8 FS ski do?

There is no better ski than the all-mountain ski to go and play on every terrains. Slopes, hard snow, crud snow, fresh powder nothing can stop it. We have to admit, out of the slopes the X-Drive 8.8 FS is simply the best. Its sidecut allows it to go almost everywhere: the tip cleans everything on its way offering a great glide and its basalt layer absorb shocks and unwanted vibrations. Perfect blades to discover the all resort on the edges of the slopes and do fresh tracks as soon as the chairs open on the morning. The lighten construction and the low density wood core make it a playful and nimble ski. If you prefer to come back on the slopes, no worries, the X-Drive 8.8 FS grips to perfection thanks to its really stiff diagonal carbon and polyamide reinforcement. In the end, whatever the mood and the terrain the X-Drive 8.8 FS is a pure wonder.

Who is the Salomon X-Drive 8.8 FS designed for?

Salomon offer a super performing all-mountain ski, versatile and powerful as we like it, but unfortunately everybody won’t be able to tame the beast without great skills. We advise this ski to expert skiers looking for a maximum performance in any snow conditions.

What are the main assets of the Salomon X-Drive 8.8 FS ski?

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich sidewalls  :

Sandwich sidewalls for extraordinary smooth ski/snow contact and great terrain adaptation. A MUST for Park and Pipe and performance proven in the race Milieu! Laminated sandwich sidewall construction enables to combine appropriate material layers for targeted performance.

  • Laminate titanium layer  :

Titanium layer delivers power and fast edge-to-edge transfers.

  • Basalt layer  :

Used in building highways throughout the world, a Basalt layer in the ski provides outstanding dampening and vibration resistance.

  • 100% wood core from tip to tail  :

Provides optimum stability and powerful rebounce. Better contact ski/snow and reduces vibrations.

  • Low density woodcore  :

The composite core density is lower which makes it 20% lighter without making it weaker.

  • RKS (Stabilisation du Rocker)  :

Fiber composite reinforcement that allows easy and precise turns

  • Honeycomb structured tips  :

Tips are ultralight and offer a better floatability. Less swing weight for added manoeuverability et more control. Better dampening and durability.

Rocker - Camber

  • All-Terrain Rocker 2.0  :

    Absorption of terrain variations

70% of the ski is in contact with the snow when it sits flat on the ground. 90% of it is in contact with the snow when it is on the edges.

  • Chassis X  :

Carbon diagonal reinforcement in the medial part of the ski. That increases torsional stiffness, grip and stability.

  • Extended transfert plateform  :

A wide integrated Aluminium plate embedded in rubber, for direct feedback from the terrain and better power transmission.

  • Heel protection
