Description

The Elan Primetime 55 Black edition fusion ski sits within Elan’s racing range. This model is designed for those seeking enhanced precision and a dynamic feel on groomers. Featuring a suite of technologies focused on energy transfer and refined control, it truly comes into its own during days spent on perfectly prepared snow, where its highly technical construction optimises every turn.

What is the Elan Primetime 55 Black edition fusion ski made for?

Engineered specifically for racing and performance-oriented piste skiing, the Primetime 55 Black edition fusion stands out with its 69 mm waist—perfectly calibrated to maintain speed through transitions while delivering maximum edge grip. Its traditional camber ensures solid edge hold and lively rebound at the end of each turn, while the tip rocker makes initiating turns easier—even as conditions become softer or more variable. The construction features a Dual Density Woodcore paired with Amphibio Profile technology: this clear distinction between left and right skis releases power and smoothness depending on which edge you put pressure on. The addition of Dual Ti (Titanal) reinforcement along with RST sidewalls enhances stability and direct energy transmission, resulting in a lively yet controlled experience at high speeds. Sensations vary according to applied pressure, allowing both long arcs or tighter turns depending on your preference or terrain.

Who is the Elan Primetime 55 Black edition fusion ski aimed at?

This model is specifically intended for advanced to expert skiers looking for equipment built for physical commitment and technical performance on groomers. Its structural stiffness combined with advanced technologies will best suit those with solid skills, who appreciate precise trajectory management, and want immediate energy transfer onto edges—even when skiing at high speeds.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
