Description

The Elan Wingman 80 Ti Shiftx ski sits at the heart of the brand’s all-mountain range. This model is particularly well-suited to those seeking a balanced ski that allows for lap after lap on all types of snow, from first lifts in the morning right through to closing time. Thanks to its technical construction and the integration of Elan’s proprietary technologies, this ski stands out for its compatibility with the varied terrain of the ski area, while providing a stable platform to rely on: it supports skiers looking for versatile performance throughout the day.

What is the Elan Wingman 80 Ti Shiftx ski made for?

The Wingman 80 Ti Shiftx falls into the all-mountain ski category, with an 80 mm waist making it effective both on groomers and for forays into softer or spring snow. Its tip features a rocker, which makes turn initiation easier and allows you to glide smoothly over snow piles or spring slush; this profile also ensures playful pivoting in tight turns. The traditional camber delivers solid edge grip and good rebound on hardpack, further enhanced by the RST Sidewall, which optimises energy transfer right through to the flat tail—crucial for maintaining precision at the end of each turn. The combination of the Power Woodcore and a Mono Ti layer, complemented by Power Line technology and the Amphibio profile, provides a subtle balance of agility, stability, and liveliness: it becomes easy to vary both your trajectory and pace according to the terrain or snow conditions.

Who is the Elan Wingman 80 Ti Shiftx ski aimed at?

This model is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers who enjoy every aspect of the ski area. It’s a relevant choice for those who are technically confident, used to skiing on different types of snow, and looking for a versatile ski that boosts both progression and confidence. Thanks to its construction, which includes titanium, a laminated wood core, and strategic carbon reinforcements, it meets the expectations of users wanting to refine their style—offering a lively feel in short turns thanks to its short turn radius, while also boosting your confidence when pushing your limits.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
