Product description — Arcade W 88

The Rossignol Arcade W 88 ski stands out thanks to its meticulous design, which combines a versatile character with a sporty profile. This ski truly comes into its own in areas where you want to alternate between groomers, transformed snow, or the occasional powder section. The advantage of this setup lies in the ski’s natural ability to adapt to every type of snow while maintaining a balance between precision, edge grip, and manoeuvrability.

What is the Rossignol Arcade W 88 ski made for?

The Arcade W 88 draws on its 88 mm waist to offer excellent adaptability to varying snow conditions: it holds firm on hardpack, while float is good enough for some sessions in fresh powder. The double rocker makes turn initiation noticeably easier and allows for smooth pivoting, even on more demanding or uneven terrain, all while retaining the solid grip of a traditional camber when carving at speed. Its wood core, reinforced with a full layer of titanal, delivers both liveliness and stability, complemented by a VAS vibration absorption system that ensures a calmer feel when skiing through chopped-up snow. Air Tip and Extended Sidecut technologies help free up the tips and tails, making it easier to switch edges or enjoy secure handling at any speed.

Who is the Rossignol Arcade W 88 ski aimed at?

The Arcade W 88 is primarily designed for advanced to expert female skiers seeking a stable and powerful platform for technical skiing across all types of terrain. This model will appeal to those who are already confident with carving turns and wish to alternate between fast sessions on groomers and occasional backcountry adventures, all while consistently finding control and energy underfoot.

Tips and advice

How to choose the length of your skis?

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

How to choose the size of your piste and all-mountain skis?

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.

When buying a pair of skis, you will have to complete a form asking for your measurements. Please complete it with the most accurate information: it will allow our technicians to adjust precisely your bindings and lower down the risk of injury.
