Description

The Armada Arv 84 Madsteez ski is a twin-tip freestyle all-mountain model designed for playful riding across the entire resort, from groomers to side country and terrain park obstacles. With its 84 mm waist, it remains lively underfoot while offering enough versatility to venture off the beaten track and explore varied terrain. Its clear advantage lies in seamlessly transitioning from carving runs to hitting kickers without needing to swap skis. The design by Madsteez gives this ski a truly distinctive graphic identity.

What is the Armada Arv 84 Madsteez ski made for?

The Arv 84 Madsteez is designed for all-mountain freestyle skiing, taking you from the park right out into the rest of the mountain as your playground. Its 84 mm waist encourages quick edge-to-edge transitions on groomers and snappy weight shifts yet still provides enough float for fun in a dusting of fresh or chopped-up snow. The double rocker combined with traditional camber makes for easy pivoting, perfect for butters, while maintaining grip and rebound when conditions firm up. Freestyle Rocker construction paired with a Hybrid Poplar/Composite core delivers an energetic snow feel, plenty of pop for take-offs, and lightness that helps link presses, spins, and grabs together effortlessly. Impact Edge reinforcements, AR50 sidewalls and S7 Base add welcome durability when repeatedly hitting rails.

Who is the Armada Arv 84 Madsteez ski aimed at?

This model suits intermediate to advanced skiers seeking a playful ride to hone their freestyle skills, learning switch riding or building confidence in the park. It’s also ideal if you’re already comfortable on groomers but want a forgiving pair of sticks that lets you start exploring more of what the mountain has to offer without being locked into just one style.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.
