Description

Designed for freestyle lines in soft snow, the Blizzard Canvas 108 ski keeps a playful character while gaining float thanks to its 108 mm waist. Its twin-tip rocker profile makes it easy to pivot, float and ride switch, while the traditional camber underfoot ensures solid edge grip when the snow firms up.

What is the Blizzard Canvas 108 ski designed for?

The Blizzard Canvas 108 is built for all-mountain freestyle skiing, with a genuine freeride focus thanks to its generous waist width. The tip and tail rocker help the ski float in powder, release easily and vary turn shapes. Its twin-tip shape maintains a natural feel when skiing switch or landing jumps. The Light Sandwich Full Sidewall construction with a poplar and paulownia wood core provides a lightweight feel, ideal for quick transitions and spontaneous moves.

Who is the Blizzard Canvas 108 ski for?

This ski is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers looking for a wide, agile freestyle model suited to natural terrain. It’s perfect for riders who enjoy buttering, pivoting, skiing switch and breaking away from traditional lines.

What are the strengths of the Blizzard Canvas 108 ski?

Float

Creativity

Manoeuvrability

Is the Blizzard Canvas 108 suitable for powder snow?

Yes, its 108 mm waist and double rocker provide excellent float in fresh snow. It remains freestyle-oriented, designed more for playful riding and terrain features than for charging big turns.

Is the Blizzard Canvas 108 good for skiing switch?

Yes, its bidirectional twin-tip shape makes it ideal for riding switch, landing backwards and changing direction smoothly.

Is the Blizzard Canvas 108 still agile despite its width?

Yes, its poplar and paulownia core keeps the weight low, at 1,790 g per half pair in 180 cm. The double rocker also helps shorten the turning radius on varied terrain.

Can the Blizzard Canvas 108 be used on groomed slopes?

It can handle piste skiing thanks to its traditional camber underfoot, which provides solid edge hold. However, its 108 mm waist and freestyle design make it less reactive edge-to-edge than a narrower ski.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.
