Description

The Dynastar M-Free 108 is the result of a collaboration between Dynastar and the French Freerider Richard Permin. It is a narrower version of its pro model, the Menace Pr-oto. The goal was to keep the same behavior, playful yet damp, but with more versatility to suit an all-mountain use, offering a more agile ski with a better grip on hard snow.

What can the Dynastar M-Free 108 ski do?

The M-free 108 is pretty much good at everything. Even though it is not the quickest edge to edge as you would expect, you will find it grippy and rather agile thanks to a shorter than average turn radius for a ski this wide. Whether you are going fast on or off-piste, no matter what the snow conditions are, the beast will remain stable due to its camber and the fiberglass that reinforces its construction. Nonetheless, it will probably be in the powder that you will like this M-free the most. The fact that it is twin does not only make it good in the park and to ski backward, it also allows it to pivot very easily. Add to that some well-designed tip and tail rockers and get something that floats incredibly well, even during the deepest days.

Who is the Dynastar M-Free 108 ski designed for?

The M-free 108 is made for a good intermediate to expert skier, looking for a freeride/backcountry-oriented ski that he will be able to use in any snow conditions and on any terrain. While this small Pr-oto is not super demanding, it is still rather rigid and added to the 108mm waist, it requires a good technic to be fully appraised. If you are indeed a good skier, no wonder that you will be able to shred the whole mountain with style, just like Richard.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
