From the Studio 0 Pro to the Studio 3: four different freestyle disciplines

Faction therefore draws a clear distinction between the two narrowest models and the Studio 2 and 3. The symmetrical twin shape of the Studio 0 Pro and Studio 1 delivers balanced performance in both directions, particularly for skiing switch and throwing tricks. The Progressive Twin shape of the Studio 2 and Studio 3 retains a turned-up tail but combines a wider tip with a narrower tail, providing better float in powder and a more directional feel.
Studio 0 Pro or Studio 1: halfpipe or terrain park?
With its 83 mm waist, the Faction Studio 0 Pro is the most specialised model in the range. It is primarily designed for the halfpipe, where its narrow waist, torsional stiffness and symmetrical twin shape provide the edge hold, wall-to-wall transitions and forward or switch landings required. Its construction includes carbon/rubber reinforcement beneath the binding area, as well as 7 mm XL sidewalls.
The Faction Studio 1 retains the symmetrical twin concept but offers greater versatility throughout the terrain park. Its 90 mm waist provides better performance beyond the pipe, while keeping the ski primarily focused on kickers, rails, spins and switch landings. Like the Studio 0 Pro, it features carbon/rubber reinforcement beneath the binding and a construction engineered to withstand repeated impacts.
The Studio 0 Pro is therefore the most discipline-specific choice for pipe skiing. The Studio 1 is better suited to riders who want to make use of different park features without restricting themselves to the pipe.
Studio 2: freestyle expands across the mountain
The Faction Studio 2 represents a clear departure from the previous two models. With a 102 mm waist, it moves beyond the confines of the park into all-mountain skiing, allowing piste, off-piste and terrain-park laps to be linked together on the same ski.
Its Progressive Twin shape also differs from the symmetrical twin design of the Studio 0 Pro and Studio 1. The tip is wider than the tail, giving the ski a more directional character while retaining a turned-up tail suited to freestyle skiing. Its poplar core is reinforced with biaxial carbon fibre and a Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad beneath the binding area.
The Studio 2 is therefore the pivotal model in the range: it retains enough freestyle DNA for kickers and switch skiing, while its shape and width let you enjoy terrain beyond the park and explore the entire ski area.
Studio 3: when backcountry takes priority
With a 112 mm waist, the Faction Studio 3 shifts the focus even further towards off-piste terrain and deep snow. It retains the Studio 2's Progressive Twin shape, as well as camber underfoot combined with tip and tail rocker, but its extra width delivers even greater float.
The Studio 3 preserves the range's freestyle DNA with its turned-up tail, carbon reinforcements and Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad. Its purpose nevertheless differs from that of the Studio 2: it is aimed primarily at advanced to expert skiers who want to throw tricks in the backcountry.
Which Faction Studio should you choose?
Your choice should primarily depend on the terrain you enjoy skiing. For focusing on the halfpipe, the Studio 0 Pro is the most specialised option. To make the most of the entire terrain park, the Studio 1 provides greater versatility. The Studio 2 is ideal for skiers who combine freestyle with piste and off-piste skiing, while the Studio 3 takes this concept further into backcountry freestyle and deep snow.
This progression also involves a change in shape: symmetrical twin on the Studio 0 Pro and Studio 1, followed by Progressive Twin on the Studio 2 and Studio 3.
