Alpine Ski Armada ARV 106

Ski sold without binding.

Do it like Sammy Carlson and shred the pow like you never did. The ARV 106 by Armada is a freestyle backcountry weapon featuring a 106mm waist, a twin tipped profile, a tip and tail rocker and an ultra-light Pop-Lite woodcore. If it's been dumping all night, you know it's an ARV day.

What can the Armada ARV 106 ski do?

If your thing is powder, pillows and bowls, the ARV 106 will make you happy. That's our statement. Wide, light and floaty, the ski works like a dream and moves through the deep with a ridiculous ease. Regular or switch, it doesn't matter as long as there is pow. It is a fantastic freestyle stick, very poppy due to carbon and kevlar inserts added into its construction, and yet quite light and not that demanding. It is a great choice for skiers who want a powder ski that can deliver decent performance on other terrains. Its construction and profile (traditional underfoot camber) ensure traction and reactivity.

Who is the Armada ARV 106 ski designed for?

We recommend the ski to FS backcountry skiers looking for a wide ski that can meet their demands on powder without compromising the rest of the mountain.

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • Carbon Kevlar  :

A blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers that run along the tail of the skis to help stabilize it. This creates a better landing platform, especially when your weight is further back than intended. It also increases snap and adds pop to ollies .

  • AR50 Sidewalls  :

ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.

  • Pop-Lite Core  :

Lightweight wood is combined with a higher density, stiffer species in a horizontal laminate to create an impossibly lively ski that has all the power needed for boosting to new elevations.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • EST Park Rocker  :

Low raised rocker in the tip and in the tail, with a positive camber under the foot. This construction is perfect for switch riding and carving.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • 1.7 impact edge  :

The edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight

  • S7 Base  :

The new S7 features a gliding additive for increased speed and longevity. Armada's toughest base, find the S7 on any ski that’s looking for rails, ledges, and boxes as much as snow.
