Alpine Ski Volkl Ledge

Ski sold without binding.

Park rats are going to be happy to see that Völkl continue their Park & Pipe lineup for 2016. Their freestyle skis are truly iconic, tested and proven to be some of the best performers in the industry. Get ready for a blast.

What can the Völkl Ledge do?

The Ledge returns with one mission, stick a smile on your face when you’re lapping the park and keep it stuck for the rest of the day. The ski feels nimble and delivers a smooth and progressive feel inspiring creativity. The Ledge is also very playful with a soft/medium flex pattern allowing added forgiveness and quick progression. If there is one sure thing with that ski, you will be sending your first spins and landing them after a few runs only. You might very well hit the rail section as well, the ski is balanced likes the taste of iron! However, heavy or hard charging skiers may reach the ski’s limits too fast, we recommend a stiffer construction for you. Off the park, the ski remains versatile and you can very well go rip the pistes of venture off them, the Ledge will back you up. It is not a freeride ski so don’t expect hardcore powder performance, but it will easily perform on crud or chopped up snow.

Who is the Völkl Ledge designed for?

The Ledge is fantastic freestyler suited for any intermediate skier willing to progress their park game. The ski is fun to play with, easy to use and durable.

Structure - Construction

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

  • Sidewall  :

The combinaison of sidewalls with an added mini-cap ensures better power transfer and improved protection for the top edge. The sidewall supports aggressive, agile and playful on-piste skiing.

  • Tough Box Construction  :

Tough Box construction features a Multi-Layer wood core wrapped with a composite/fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate resilience and snap for our freeskiing models.Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds snap, strength and binding screw retention.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Symmetrical Sidecut  :

The symmetrical sidecut allows the park and pipe rider the best possible performance by allowing a center-mounted ski to perform the same while riding switch or forward. It also allows completely even balance for rail slides

  • Tip & Tail Rocker  :

The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The rocker height is minimal. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

  • Twin-Tip  :

A symmetrical shape for a 100% freestyle ride, as efficient in switch as in regular stance.
