Description

The Elan Wingman 86 Black Edition all-mountain ski has been designed to meet the expectations of skiers seeking a model suited to a variety of terrains. This model incorporates several innovations to make the transition between hardpack and softer snow easier, ensuring great freedom throughout the day. The advantage of this ski lies in its ability to deliver both stability and manoeuvrability, whether you’re on groomers or venturing into unprepared terrain.

What is the Elan Wingman 86 Black Edition ski made for?

The Elan Wingman 86 Black Edition is intended for skiers who want to enjoy the entire ski area without limitation. With its 86 mm waist, it has enough width to explore deep or chopped-up snow while maintaining precision and agility on groomers. The traditional camber combined with a front rocker enhances edge grip on hard surfaces, while making it easier to float and initiate turns in softer snow. Its Sidewall construction with a full wood core is paired with Carbon Rods, Tubelite Woodcore, and Mono TI technologies to deliver a progressive flex, excellent torsional stability, and efficient energy transfer. Altogether, this makes the ski highly effective when quickly switching from one condition to another: morning carving on icy groomers, then powder or spring slush as the snow transforms.

Who is the Elan Wingman 86 Black Edition ski aimed at?

This model is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who can fully exploit its potential. Skilled skiers will particularly appreciate its responsiveness and stability, both useful for long, powerful turns and for sudden bursts of speed when the terrain changes rapidly. Those seeking precise control regardless of snow conditions will find a ski whose construction allows for sharp control in any situation.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
