World Peace, Afterblack or Hypnotist: three ways to ride freestyle
With K2, freestyle snowboards are not limited to a single level of performance. The World Peace, Afterblack and Hypnotist all feature a twin-tip shape, but their constructions are designed for different riding styles.
The K2 World Peace focuses on jibbing, presses and tricks on park features. Its aspen core combined with biaxial fibreglass helps the board flex and makes freestyle tricks easier at moderate speeds. The K2 Afterblack keeps a symmetrical twin shape, but its hybrid camber and medium flex extend its use to jumps and side hits around the resort.
More specialised, the K2 Hypnotist is aimed at advanced snowboarders who regularly ride park, especially medium to large features and kickers. Its construction combines Carbon DarkWeb and Carbon Backbone reinforcements with SpaceGlass technology at the tips. It is designed to deliver more response and pop than a board primarily intended for flatland and jibbing.
Manifest or Antidote: two takes on aggressive all-mountain snowboarding
The K2 Manifest sits between freeride and freestyle. Its directional twin shape and traditional camber profile between the bindings, paired with a more pronounced rocker in the nose, allow you to retain switch-riding capability while making it easier to handle softer snow. Its A1 core and Carbon DarkWeb reinforcements support efficient power transmission through the edges.
The K2 Antidote is aimed at a more experienced rider looking for a board capable of handling aggressive riding and sending tricks outside the park. Its directional twin shape is paired with a construction that incorporates SpaceGlass, Recess3D and a 3D contoured base. The Antidote therefore favours a more demanding all-mountain approach, while the Manifest retains a less specialised all-round position.
Passport, Commonwealth and Alchemist: which K2 snowboard for freeriding?
The K2 Passport is a directional board designed for snowboarders who place real importance on carving turns on corduroy and heading off-piste. Its slightly above-average width, taper and extended nose rocker help initiate turns and improve float in fresh snow.
The K2 Commonwealth uses geometry close to that of the Passport, but with a reinforced construction intended for more demanding riding, particularly at high speed and in the steep. It is therefore better suited to riders looking for a stiffer board.
The K2 Alchemist takes freeride precision and stability even further. It notably features an S1 Pro Core, Spectral Braid reinforcements and Recess3D construction. This model is aimed primarily at experienced snowboarders who prioritise speed, powerful edge pressure and challenging terrain.
Almanac, Excavator and Sky Pilot: shapes built to make the most of turns and terrain
The K2 Almanac and Excavator use a wider platform than a conventional-shaped board. Their Volume Shift design allows you to choose a shorter length than usual while retaining surface area underfoot.
The Almanac is designed for resort riding, with particular attention paid to linking turns smoothly. The Excavator accentuates its directional character with a wide profile, a dual-radius sidecut and pronounced taper. It is built for both powerful carving on piste and powder sessions.
The K2 Sky Pilot takes a different approach. Developed with Sage Kotsenburg, it combines a slightly wider directional shape with a medium flex. Its aim is to promote easy pivoting and control across natural terrain features.
Courier, Gateway Pop and Embassy: different levels of approachability
For discovering snowboarding and progressing, the K2 Courier relies on a directional twin shape and a flat profile between the bindings with rocker at the tips. Its Catch-Free edges make those first changes of direction easier and help reduce edge catches.
The K2 Gateway Pop is better suited to snowboarders who already have the basics and want to develop their piste riding while retaining the option of heading into fresh snow.
More all-mountain oriented, the K2 Embassy combines a directional shape, a BAP core made from bamboo, aspen and paulownia, and ICG 10 fibreglass with integrated carbon stringers. It is aimed at intermediate to advanced riders who want to vary terrain and turn shapes.
Which K2 women’s snowboard should you choose?
K2 snowboards for women cover progression, freestyle and all-mountain riding alike. The Metropolitan, with its twin shape, focuses on progression and accessible freestyle riding, particularly for learning to ride both regular and switch. The Chloro is also geared towards approachable freestyle use, helping riders start making use of natural terrain features and park obstacles.
The K2 Dreamsicle has a directional shape and a profile that makes turn initiation easier. It suits female riders looking to develop their skills around the resort, both on piste and in softer snow.
The K2 Extravision raises the performance level with a hybrid camber, a Rhythm core combining aspen and paulownia, and carbon reinforcements integrated into ICG 10 fibreglass. It is designed for intermediate to advanced female riders looking for stronger edge hold and greater precision through their turns.
