D.O.A or Super D.O.A: what is the difference between these two Capita snowboards?
The Capita D.O.A (Defenders Of Awesome) is one of the brand’s flagship models for resort freestyle. Its true twin shape lets you ride both regular and switch, while its Resort V1 profile combines the energy of traditional camber with more forgiving zones near the contact points. Its P2 Superlight core and carbon reinforcements enhance pop and responsiveness without making it a board intended exclusively for the park.
The Super D.O.A keeps the same philosophy and the same camber profile, but benefits from a more sophisticated construction. It uses a 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core, Hybrid SuperCarbon HolySheet fibres and a HyperDrive ADV XT base. It is designed to deliver even more lightness, response and speed. The choice between the two therefore depends less on the terrain you ride and more on the level of performance and precision you expect.
Dark Horse, Indoor Survival and Stairmaster: snowboards built for the park
For a more freestyle park-oriented approach, Capita offers several cambered twin shapes. The Dark Horse features a relatively stiff flex and carbon reinforcements designed to support pop on jumps and terrain features. It retains a fairly straightforward construction, with a Dual Core and Special Blend fibreglass.
The Indoor Survival uses a softer flex and a Park V1 profile with Flat Kick at the tips. Its build includes a Meta Core and a Titanal Centerline Booster reinforcement to maintain response underfoot. As a result, it remains capable on groomers while being particularly well suited to freestyle riding in the park.
The SB Stairmaster, from Capita’s Spring Break universe, returns with a true twin shape and traditional camber. Its Dual Core, Special Blend fibreglass and Carbon Aramid Boosters make for a construction geared towards pop and freestyle tricks.
Mercury or Aeronaut: two takes on all-mountain riding
The Capita Mercury combines a directional shape with a Resort V2 profile, featuring camber underfoot and rocker zones at the tips. This set-up blends edge hold on groomers, drive out of turns and float in fresh snow. Its Hover Core and Amplitex reinforcements combining flax and carbon support dynamic all-mountain riding, with a strong freeride bias.
Developed with Arthur Longo, the Aeronaut has a different character. Its directional Alpine V3 camber, bamboo-reinforced Panda Hover core and CarbonFlax amplifiers favour piste performance and pop. It is aimed particularly at snowboarders who like to build speed, make the most of terrain transitions and launch off natural features around the resort.
Kazu Kokubo Pro, Black Snowboard Of Death, Mega Death: different visions of freeriding
The Kazu Kokubo Pro stands out with a compact directional shape, featuring an extended nose and a slightly tapered tail. This geometry promotes float in deep snow and manoeuvrability, while retaining a lively feel suited to committed freeride riding.
The The Black Snowboard Of Death prioritises precise directional riding. Its Alpine V1 profile combines camber underfoot, a flatter rear section and rocker in the nose. Its reinforced construction supports powerful edge pressure at high speed, while maintaining the versatility to perform in varying snow conditions.
The Mega Death follows a similar freeride direction but uses premium materials to reduce weight and increase reactivity. Its Thermopolymer Starship core, Pure Megacarbon construction and Megadrive XT base are intended for experienced riders looking for a particularly light and powerful board.
The Matriarch: a freestyle-inspired approach to freeride
Developed with Torstein Horgmo, the Capita The Matriarch pairs a directional shape with Alpine V4 camber. It keeps a dynamic approach to snowboarding, with the aim of bringing freestyle creativity to natural terrain and freeride lines. Its Transcend Core and Fairmat Carbon Amplifiers help with power transmission and responsiveness.
With a directional flex rated at 7/10 by Capita, it is designed for advanced snowboarders looking for a board capable of moving from carved turns on corduroy to varied off-piste terrain, without adopting an exclusively powder-focused feel.
Which Capita women’s snowboard should you choose?
The Capita Paradise is an accessible option for progressing across the whole mountain. Its directional twin shape and Resort V3 profile make it easier to adapt to changing terrain, with camber underfoot for edge grip and tip rockers for added forgiveness.
The Birds Of A Feather and Mia Brookes Pro share a true twin shape and the Resort V1 profile. Inspired by the D.O.A, the Birds Of A Feather is aimed at intermediate to advanced riders who want to combine freestyle with resort riding. The Mia Brookes Pro builds on this platform with a lighter Hover Core and a HyperDrive ADV base. It favours more technical freestyle riding, particularly on jumps and features.
The The Equalizer, developed with Jess Kimura, stands out with its directional shape and Resort V2 profile. Its Meta Core and Technora Flax Boosters reinforcements are designed to support precise riding both on piste and in the backcountry. It provides an alternative to the two twin models for riders who place greater emphasis on carving and off-piste performance.
Snowboards built in the Capita The Mothership factory
Capita boards are manufactured in The Mothership factory, located in Austria. The brand notably uses a hydro-activated thermal energy system and a solar installation for its production processes. Capita also develops a range of constructions combining wood cores, fibreglass, carbon and reinforcement materials, with technical choices specific to each model.
