Child boards from the biggest brands
Bataleon, Burton, Capita, Jones, K2, Nidecker, Nitro, Rossignol: find the leading snowboard brands brought together in our junior packs, with board and compatible bindings included. From learning to progression, we cover every level and every discipline: ultra-forgiving boards for beginners, more technical boards for young riders progressing quickly, freestyle, freeride or all-mountain.
How do you choose the right children's snowboard pack?
A well-chosen snowboard package is a board and bindings that work together. Two criteria make all the difference: the child's ability level and build.
The board: forgiveness for starting out, responsiveness for progression
For a child who is just starting out, a board with a rocker profile at the tips and a soft flex is the right place to begin: it forgives stance errors, turns easily and does not tire them out. For a child moving up a level and wanting to hit the park or powder, the more technical packs offer boards with more pop and responsiveness, using the same technologies as adult models but with a flex suited to children's weight.
The bindings: softness or support depending on the level
To begin with, a soft binding with a padded baseplate absorbs vibrations and leaves room for learning. From intermediate level upwards, a stiffer binding delivers precision in carving as well as freeride and better support for starting to throw down tricks.
What size snowboard is right for your child?
Board size is chosen by cross-referencing height and weight — not age alone, which can be misleading. Weight is the deciding factor: a child who is light for their height will take a shorter board, while a child who is heavy for their height will need a longer one.
| Child's height | Indicative weight | Recommended board size |
|---|---|---|
| 90 – 110 cm | 13 – 22 kg | 75 – 100 cm |
| 110 – 130 cm | 20 – 35 kg | 100 – 120 cm |
| 130 – 150 cm | 30 – 50 kg | 120 – 135 cm |
| 145 cm and over | 45 kg and over | 135 cm and over |
If you are unsure between two sizes, our advisers are on hand to refine the choice according to the model and intended use.
FAQ - Children's snowboard pack
Complete pack or board only?
If your child already has bindings in good condition, a board only is enough. If you are starting from scratch or both items need replacing, the pack is the simplest solution.
What is the right snowboard size for a child?
The right snowboard size depends mainly on the child's height, weight and ability level. Age gives an initial indication, but it is not enough: two children of the same age can have very different builds. For beginners, it is better to choose a board that is a little shorter and easier to turn. For a young rider who is already confident, a slightly longer board will offer more stability and edge hold.
At what age can you start snowboarding?
A child can start snowboarding as soon as they have enough balance, coordination and enthusiasm to discover sliding on snow. In general, the first experiences happen around 4 to 6 years old, with a soft, lightweight and very forgiving board. The key is to prioritise enjoyment, short sessions and equipment suited to their build.
Are bindings included in a children's snowboard pack?
Yes, a children's snowboard pack includes a board and suitable bindings. The bindings are selected to work with the board offered, taking riding level into account.
How do I know if the pack is suitable for my child's level?
Our packs are grouped by level so you can see at a glance whether the kit matches your child's ability.
Boots and accessories to complete the kit
Because young riders need a complete set-up, you will also find our selection of children's snowboard boots, as well as children's snow clothing and essential accessories such as helmets, goggles and gloves.
