Alpine Ski Salomon X Drive 8.0 Ti

With its TI extension associated with carbon reinforcement, this X-Drive 8.0 Ti signed by Salomon is a titanium boosted version incredibly stable. The wood core and the classic camber take care of the edge control on groomed runs and on hard snow; while the sidecuts  and tip rocker take care of the powder days. Its short radius brings playfulness to the table to make this ski turn on the spot and super lively.

What can the Salomon X-Drive 8.0 Ti ski do?

Slopes or fresh powder, it’s up to you according to the mood. The X-Drive 8.0 Ti is a versatile all-mountain ski formidable on slopes where it edge grips to perfection and its tip rocker will negotiate turn initiation without effort. When you push on it the ski stays stable and the adrenaline starts rising. It even bites on crusty and iced snow. Just pure joy! If you are tired of overcrowded  runs, just jump on the sides and slay your own lines on the most beautiful black runs charged of fresh powder. Even with its 80mm waist, the X-Drive 8.0 Ti is an incredible all terrains ski able to float in thin powder.

Who is the Salomon X-Drive 8.0 Ti  ski designed for?

We advice this all terrain ski to intermediate to confirmed skiers looking for venturing the ski resort with the same pair of skis. The X-Drive 8.0 Ti is really accessible, you can have fun with brand new skis without ruining yourself and be able to afford the matching ski boots.

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 4164g en 170cm

Structure - Construction

  • Double layer of titanium laminate  :

Improved precision, enormous edge grip and maximum responsiveness.

  • Woodcore  :

Wood is added into the core to improve on-snow stability and return. It also makes the contact ski/snow smoother and eliminates chatter.

  • RKS (Stabilisation du Rocker)  :

Fiber composite reinforcement that allows easy and precise turns

  • Semi-Sandwich  :

Combination of ABS sidewalls under the foot with monocoque construction by the tip and the tail for a smoother ski/snow contact, a more forgiving feel and easier turns.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker 2.0  :

    Absorption of terrain variations

70% of the ski is in contact with the snow when it sits flat on the ground. 90% of it is in contact with the snow when it is on the edges.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Interface

  • X-Track plate  :

    Optimal power transmission

Various

  • Chassis X  :

Carbon diagonal reinforcement in the medial part of the ski. That increases torsional stiffness, grip and stability.

  • Heel protection
  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.

Ski Binding Salomon M XT 12 C90 Black Orange

The binding is lower which provides a more precise feel and an improved contact with the terrain. It is also wider with better lateral transmission.

The Progressive Transfer pads reduce vibrations and deliver a better ski/snow contact feel.

Compared to the previous version (Smartrack), the binding is 15% lighter in its Ti version and 5% lighter in its X-track STD version.

It's easy to mount and doesn't require any tools for adjusting different boot sizes.

The binding meets skiers' needs.
