I: How to choose your snowboard set?

One rider, one board, tons of options: you have to choose your set according to your level, your style and your needs. It is important to know this before buying. You can read our snowboard buying guide to understand the basics and make the right choice.

1: Define your level:

Beginner - Intermediate : Recreational rider still learning the basics. You ride only on piste and make technical mistakes.

Advanced : You ride regularly and feel comfortable on any kind of terrain. You ride flawlessly with very few mistakes.

Expert : Physical and aggressive rider, you have a great technique and ride anywhere in the mountains with ease.

2: Define your style:

Freeride : Directional board designed for riding on soft and fresh snow but that works very well on piste or groomed snow.

Freeride All-mountain : The board is designed for piste riding, it features a directional shape and also allows to ride powder.

Freestyle All-mountain : Freestyle-oriented all-terrain board. Its profile and shape make it perform everywhere in the mountains.

Freestyle : Primarily intended for park and street use, the board is short and light, generally softer than average. It allows easy switch riding.

100% Powder : Board designed to evolve in virgin snow. Very easy to handle, it offers incredible sensations. Ideal to play between the trees and enjoy the days of deep conditions.

II: Bindings included in packages

The bindings we include in our snowboard packages are carefully selected according to the board's category and level. For a board, we offer one or more binding options allowing you to custom your package and find the right match. Unlike our ski packages, Glisshop.co.uk does not mount the bindings on snowboards. You can even find a selection of wide snowboards for riders with large feet. Most brands have a men’s snowboard range and a women’s snowboard range, but some brands work differently. We can mention a 100 % women dedicated brand such as Roxy or the opposite, Lib Tech which created a women’s range only in 2021.

Children’s snowboard in 90, 100, 130 and up to 145 cm

While the differences between men’s and women’s snowboards are minimal and are mostly focused on cosmetic changes, children’s snowboards can have technical specificities. As they are often lightweight and are starting to ride, you find softer flex ratings and more forgiving cambers such as a flat camber, to make learning easier. Of course, the board dimensions are adapted.
